I’ve been dreaming (literally) about making a piñata notebook. I love piñatas (and notebooks) so this just seemed like the prefect way to put them together! I was also totally inspired by Chanel Dror’s post “Want to Get Hit On“ via CamilleStyles.com. (check it out!)
- A Notebook (I used a composition notebook because it had a sturdy cover that could support hot glue)
- Colorful paper (I used card stock paper and chose three solid colors and one metallic)
- Hot Glue Gun (and glue!)
I started by cutting the card stock into strips (the length of my notebook and about 2 inches thick). I cut vertically up the strips of paper to create a fringe effect (I cut about 3/4 the way up). Once all of the strips were ready, I laid them out in the order I wanted them to appear on the notebook and started gluing them to the cover. NOTE start gluing from the bottom of the notebook and build up. It’s much easier to layer them on top of one-another than try to put them underneath one-another. Lastly, try to keep all fringe on top of the cover. This will eliminate the chance of snagging a fringe strip! Once you’ve finish the front, flip your notebook over and repeat the same patter on the back.
If you think this notebook is ‘too much’ for an everyday notebook, try using it as the guest book at a party!
