Happy Monday!

Happy Monday! I know Mondays are rough, but I hope this picture lifts your spirits a bit. My amazing sister just moved to NYC and I’ve had so much exploring the city with her. Last night we went out for a pre-Emmy margarita and took a stroll along the east river. We were able to catch a breathtaking sunset and a seaplane landing (it was an unusually eventful walk). This ombré sky was the perfect end to an amazing weekend.

Goodbye Summer

I’m so sad that summer has come to an end. I was just getting into the swing of things! The only good thing about the end of summer is the start of autumn (my favorite season). Who doesn’t like apple picking, bonfires, hay-rides, cider, sweaters, boots, and football games? So say goodbye to the beach chairs and hello to pumpkin spice lattes!

Blog Bash NYC

This past Saturday I had the privilege of attending Blog Bash NYC hosted by Rebecca of A Daily Something and Michelle Edgemont. I had so much fun chatting with some of my favorite bloggers and chowing down on some amazing food (and drinks). I even ran into Melissa from The Faux Martha (one of my all time favorite blogs)! All I can say is Rebecca and Michelle sure know how to throw a party. I had such a blast and am excited to share a few photos with you.

Pink Olive’s Christmas in July Party

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Yesterday I had the privilege of attending Pink Olive‘s Christmas in July Party where the exclusive Pink Olive Gifting Kit from Knot & Bow was launched. The party was held at the Pink Olive Park Slope location and was crawling with inspirational creatives like  Glitter + Rye (who designed the adorable windows) & Rebecca Beach of A Daily Something. I got a chance to mix & mingle with fellow bloggers, and hear some of their tips for gift wrappin’ and gift givin’. Aside from the torrential downpour and the slightly scary lightning storm, the night was a blast!

p.s. We had the most amazing pumpkin whoopie pies from One Girl Cookies. I could have had about 7 more, but I put a stop at 1. Yey me!

I’m Thankful For…

Image

It’s pretty easy to go about your week without acknowledging things you’re thankful for. I do this all the time. I forget how thankful I am for certain family members, friends, blogs, books etc. Sometimes we (unintentionally) forget to say thank you and express how truly grateful we are. So if you get the chance this week write an email, pick up the phone, or send a postcard saying thank you to someone who has helped you or inspired you.  Sometimes people don’t know what an inspiration they are until someone says tells them!

This week I’d like to thank PuglyPixel.com. For those of you who don’t know about this site, it’s an amazing resource for everything related to graphic design, blogging and style. She also has amazing free templates, tutorials, and how-to’s. If you get a chance, I highly recommend checking it out. I know you’ll love it.

So thank you PuglyPixel.com for making my week a little more colorful! You truly inspire me.

Monday Blues

Happy Monday everyone! I’m usually very excited about the beginning of the week. I love getting myself organized on Sunday afternoon and starting my week off right. But this week I’ve been dragging a little. Today my list of to-do’s seems pretty long and no matter how many I cross off, I find something else to add-on.  I’m going a little cross-eyed over here. I feel like Tuesday will be better thought (we can only hope). I hope everyone else is enjoying their Monday!

Spring!

With temperatures in the 70’s today I think it’s safe to say spring has officially sprung. I do have this {little} fear that we’re going to have a freak snowstorm, but hopefully that’s not the case! I hope everyone is out enjoying the beautiful weather and getting some fresh air. We’ve been waiting for this amazing weather for months now, we better to take advantage of it!

P.S. Did you know it’s macaron day? As if we need a day to celebrate macarons, everyday is macaroon day.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day… Kinda

Image

Well, I’m pretty happy that’s over. I consider St. Patrick’s Day to be just about as fun as ripping off a Band-Aid. And as my friend said on the phone this morning, “we are as far away from the next St. Patrick’s Day as we’ll ever be.” Thank God.

On that uplifting note, my roommate and I looked super cute during our (minimal) holiday celebrations. I wore a stunning (if I do say so myself) dress from Forever21 and my roommate wore neon green skinny jeans also from (hold your breath) Forever21! We shop at more upscale establishments for more important holidays such as Arbor Day, Presidents’ Day, Flag Day, Groundhog Day (you get my point). I’m jealous of my roommate because she has skinny legs that look good in neon skinny jeans. (Remember ladies wearing colored skinny jeans is a privilege, not a right.)

Hope everyone has recovered from the green beer and soda bread. Next year lets celebrate by drinking coffee and eating pastries rather than binge drinking. Who’s with me? Look at those hands fly…
